Crude oil & natural gas prices see increase in May 2015

Crude oil prices increased from $59.62 per barrel in April 2015 to $60.25 per barrel in May 2015. Natural gas prices also increased from $2.56 per million BTU in April 2015 to $2.78 per million BTU in May 2015.

Texas crude oil production for May 2015 was 75,309,757 barrels, down from 77,472,269 barrels reported in April 2015. Texas natural gas production was 639,101,169 Mcf (thousand cubic feet) of gas in May 2015, down from the April 2015 natural gas production total of 661,025,675 Mcf.

Texas health care jobs increased by 0.4% from May to June

The health care and social assistance industry gained 5,100 jobs from May 2015 to June 2015. Compared to June 2014, the cumulative number of jobs added in this industry is 56,400, an annual increase of 4.2%.

Texas oil and gas extraction jobs increased by 2.3% from May to June

The oil and gas extraction industry in Texas gained 2,300 jobs from May 2015 to June 2015. Compared to June 2014, the cumulative number of jobs added in this industry is 1,100, an increase of 1.1%.
