Texas STEM job openings decreased from August to September

The number of job openings in Texas for STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) jobs decreased from 43,210 in August 2014 to 40,804 in September 2014. The searcher-to-job opening ratio also decreased from 1.24 to 0.89 in the same span.

STEM jobs decreased in TX for the month of August

Texas experienced an increase of 8,724 innovation job openings from August 2014 to August 2014, an annual increase of 25.30%.

Texas RN’s, therapists, and PA’s see increase in job openings from July to August

The number of job openings in Texas for nurses, therapists, and physician assistants increased from  10,068 to 10,464 from July 2014 to August 2014. The searcher-to-job opening ratio decreased from 1.48 to 1.36 during that same span.

Texas healthcare jobs increased by 0.6% from August 2014 to September 2014

The health care and social assistance industry gained 8,100 jobs from August 2014 to September 2014. Compared to September 2013, the cumulative number of jobs added in this industry is 43,600, an annual increase of 3.3%.

Texas oil and gas extraction jobs decreased by 0.3% from August 2014 to September 2014

The oil and gas extraction industry in Texas lost 300 jobs from August 2014 to September 2014. Compared to September 2013, the cumulative number of jobs added in this industry is 8,100, an increase of 7.7%.

Texas hydro-fracturing job openings decreased from July to August

petroleum engineer

The number of job openings in Texas for “petroleum engineers” and “geological and petroleum technicians” decreased from 782 in July 2014 to 648 in August 2014, while the searcher-to-job opening ratio increased from 1.1 to 1.3 in the same span.
